Thunder in the Valley 2004

Team Thunder was created in 2004 with the idea of having a car show that would have a food drive and clothing drive for the local area as part of the event. Having a nice looking car is great but if you can use it to feed and clothe local families, now that would be awesome.
Because the first event was on scheduled on Sept 11, 2004, we included the local fire department, police, emergency response teams, Salvation Army, Red Cross and the Military. It turned into a huge community block party with live music, food, flea market, kids events, car and bike show and much more. Over 3000 people came to a church in the little town of Bechtelsville for a huge Community block party.
We filled two tractor-tractors with enough food to feed 170 families and clothing for 400 local families and other families from local shelters and half-way houses. We raised money for the Salvation Army and people stood in line to donate blood to the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. The event has touched thousands of people’s lives in a very positive way!
