Thunder in the Valley 2005

Ripley's Award
Ripley's Believe It or Not has accepted our achievement in conducting "The Largest Community food drive in a 24 Hour period!!!"
and Guinness World Records has accepted our achievement for "Largest Food Drive by a non-charitable organization (24 hours)!!!"

We needed to raise over 65,000 lbs of food to break the record in the Guinness Book of World Records and Ripley's Believe it or Not and
together we raised 156,889 lbs of food and water!!

To try to put Thunder in the Valley 2005 into words is like putting an F-5 Hurricane in a bottle.

God gave us an awesome weekend (again). Thousands of people came from all over to be part of, and help at Thunder. God moved with such a powerful spirit that nobody could deny his presence.

People pulled up to drop of their food donation and were so touched by the sight of hundreds of people of all walks of life working shoulder to shoulder to help make a difference. It truly showed God's love! People would just park their cars and ask how they could help! Now that is saying something.

Companies, teams, churches, groups, boy scouts and people moved together with a simple goal... helping people with food, love and relationships that will change hundreds of thousands of peoples lives for years to come. We had car and bike clubs, military, fire and police people on hand along with food and events for everyone. What a great day!

Many people have come to us and said what a great event it was and have told us about all the personal ways they were touched. It was hard to fathom how many different ways God could touch people. It is just awesome!

Thunder in the Valley 2005 set a new benchmark of what a community can do when the focus is on a positive goal. We filled 10 tractor-trailers and raised 156,889 lbs of food in the small community of Bechtelsville, PA

Our question is... what could a community like Houston, Philadelphia or New York City do if they focus on a common goal like this and asked God's blessing? Wow!

If you would take that step of faith, who would win? Everybody!
